June: Board Game Club
This is a great way to introduce new and classic board games for teens. Playing board games are a great way to bring new people together who have not met previously. I love finding new board games to play and learning how to play it well. In this program, there would be a lot of board games that are available to play, but a staff member is available to explain the rules and answer questions if needed.

I think that the main planning component of this program is purchasing the games that you think your patrons would want to play. I recently purchased a lot of card games because we saw that we had a group of teens coming in and playing UNO every day. Additionally, buying a spread of older, more well-known games that everyone knows how to play like Monopoly, Pictionary, and Scrabble can be great because you don’t need to explain how to play, but having more new games like Betrayal on the House on the Hill, Ticket to Ride, and Cosmic Encounters can be fun because everyone can learn a new game.
PREP STEPS:
Buy the games that you would like to put out.
-
I would market this on social media through Instagram and Facebook, but then I would also put up the physical flyer in the area where teens hang out to have them spread the info through word-of-mouth.
