Dark Academia
Dark Academia is an aesthetic that rose in popularity over the past decade. Defined by moody and dark color schemes, art and literature appreciation, and styles and decor that takes inspiration from gothic architecture found from 19th century university campuses, dark academia first rose to prominence on Tumblr and then grew in popularity on other social media sites. I chose this for my theme because I feel like Dark Academia has had a strong influence on the YA genre.
