July: Decoupage Shells

This is a really easy craft that can be done with a variety of ages, but it works really well with teens because it can make a very cool decoration. The goal is to give the teens an easy but effective craft that can be used in a variety of ways when it’s done. All you need are shells that you can buy at a craft store, Mod Podge, and paper napkins. You can buy a lot of different prints of paper napkins as well to give the participants a lot of different options. This is a great summer program that you can tie into a beach theme as well!

It’s become a more popular diy decoration on social media as well.

    10 Participants

    PREP STEPS:

    1. Put out all materials (Shells, Mod Podge, sponge brushes, paper plates, napkins) Each participant gets 2 shells to decorate.

    2. Fill up spray bottle with water.

    3. Peel apart the backing of each napkin so the printed sheet is on its own. You can discard the blank sheet, or use it to protect your surfaces.

    4. Rinse and dry the scallop shells to ensure there’s no excess dust.

  • I will market this on social media using a flyer I made on Canva (see attachments.) This is a great program to tie into the  Teen Summer Reading Club as well because of its summery theme.
